In combination with third-party products from leading
encryption vendors, DeviceLock® enables enterprises to ensure that
only removable storage devices with approved encryption can be accessed
on corporate computers, thus preventing malicious or negligent leakage
of sensitive corporate information to unencrypted or otherwise unapproved
media.
Featuring a comprehensive central management platform
fully integrated with Microsoft® Active Directory and Group Policy,
DeviceLock® enables security administrators to precisely control,
shadow-copy, log, and analyze end-user access to all types of devices
and local ports on their Windows computers, as well as automatically disrupting
operations of any hardware keyloggers. DeviceLock® proactively
protects against data leakage and malware infiltration via the
local ports of distributed computers, thus significantly reducing business
risks and costs associated with malicious actions, errors, or negligence
by insiders or others with physical computer access.
Just imagine. You have a new office temp. She has
been recruited by a rival firm to steal your client list. Simply by plugging
her USB memory stick (or her iPod) into a PC she can copy all of your
data unnoticed in seconds.
At the same time she decides to introduce a worm
onto the network which causes no end of havoc. And to think, to accomplish
all of this she did not even need to have any Administrator rights.
Also imagine - you are one of the 9 NHS Trusts,
HM Customs or a Police Force who have allowed data to be copied to CDs,
USB sticks in the first place - only to be subsequently lost - and had
not enforced encryption!
- Control which users or groups can access USB
and FireWire ports, WiFi and Bluetooth adapters, CD-ROMs, floppy drives,
other removable devices - Network wide!
- Install network wide in seconds. Use Devicelock's
own Enterprise Management console or by using Windows integrated Group
Policy / Active Directory.
- Create a white list of USB devices (by serial
number if required) which allows you to authorise only specific devices
that will not be locked regardless of any other settings
- Set devices in read-only mode
- Control access to devices depending on the
user, group membership, time of day, day of the week etc.
- Browse the LDAP tree and select computers for
processing directly from directory services (such as MS Active Directory,
Novell eDirectory, Open LDAP, etc.).
- Grant temporary access to devices. Useful in
exceptional situations, this function grants users temporary access
to USB devices when there is no network connection. In use, DeviceLock
administrators provide users with special access codes over the phone.
These codes will unlock DeviceLock and enable temporary access to requested
devices.
- Define a custom message to be displayed to
users when a denied attempt is made to plug in an unauthorised device.
- Define discrete lists of accounts that are
able to administer (install, uninstall, modify permissions and other
settings, etc.) DeviceLock. Even users with local administrator privileges
can't disable DeviceLock Service or remove it from their computers,
if they are not in this list of DeviceLock administrators.

There are some great features in DeviceLock Enterprise
- specifically addressing the needs of larger organisations. The
main ones include:
Data Shadowing
- The ability to mirror all data copied to external
storage devices (USB, iPdo, removable, floppy, DVD/CD-ROM etc.) and
data transferred via COM and LPT ports. A full copy of the files and
data is saved. Shadowing is an extended function of DeviceLock
Audit and like auditing can be defined on a per-user basis.
Media White List
- Uniquely identify a specific DVD/CD-ROM disk
by the data signature, and authorize access accordingly. Any change
to the content of the media will change the data signature, thus invalidating
authorization. In this way, a white-listed disk cannot be used to introduce
unwanted data to the network.
- A DeviceLock Media White List can be configured
for example, to grant access to a collection of approved DVD/CD-ROM
disks by certain users and groups, so that only authorized users are
able to use the approved information.
DeviceLock Enterprise Server
- Centralized collecting and storing of shadow
files. DeviceLock Enterprise Server uses MS SQL Server to store received
data.
DeviceLock Management Console
- This MMC snap-in now includes a module for remote
administration of DeviceLock Enterprise Server. Using this console,
you can manage DeviceLock Service and administer DeviceLock Enterprise
Server at the same time.
Disk Quotas
- You can now set a disk quota for shadowed data,
ensuring that the user's free disk space is not overburdened.
View Shadow Data Logged Files
- Now you can view logged files using a built-in
viewer on the Shadow Log Viewer dialog.
- Even deleted shadow data is now logged. When
records are removed from the shadow data log, the binary data is deleting
from the database but the information about these records is written
to a Deleted Shadow Data Log and can be conveniently viewed from the
DeviceLock Management Console.
New Server Detailed Logging
- A special log for DeviceLock Enterprise Server
writes its internal information, warnings and errors for convenient
viewing from DeviceLock Management Console.
Custom Warning Messages
- A custom message can now be displayed when temporary
access permission expires for devices that were authorized via Temporary
White List.
New Install Package
- All DeviceLock components, documentation and
help files install via a single installation package
New Documentation
- The user manual and help-files have been significantly
updated to include information about all new features and for easier
reference overall.
